Our free training continues for 2016!15/02/16
A snowy-yet-warm welcome in Scotland!
Despite formidable winds and driving snow, those hardy Scots turned out in droves to attend our Free Sound Training at The Vine Centre in Dunfermline recently. It was a great way to kick off a fantastic year of free training events from Rock-Tech.
Close to 70 people came from as far as Prestwick 70 miles away, to learn about how to get the best sound at church.
Our course aims to give sound engineers, worship leaders and church leaders alike a solid grounding in how sound works, and how to solve common problems.
Feedback, unexplained buzzes and hums and other such annoyances can be a real disruption, and bring frustration to the most servent-hearted of teams! We look in detail at advanced microphone techniques and use of DI boxes, whcih can go a long way to giving you the tools you need to understand what's going wrong - the first step towards a solution.
We then move onto the fun stuff - how to best mix your sound, finishing with a hands-on demo of techniques for digital mixing desks.
The lovely Scots said;
New for 2016!
This year we've developed our format for free training events, to include hands-on product demo sessions following the main teaching. You told us you wanted more time playing around with desks, so we've teamed up with Yamaha to give you exactly that!
Yamaha's TF and QL mixing consoles offer flexible solutions perfect for our customers' unique environments. Both desks will be available to try out along with expert advice.
Come and have a play!
We're also very excited to be joining forces with iKnow Church, providers of excellent church management software solutions. We'll be running two events together, with an advanced programme of training on all things technical for church, including -
- iKnow Church management and communication tools - finance, child check-in and pastoral care
- Recording a sunday message
- Advanced sound - gain structure, compressors gates and FX
- Lighting design and principles
Look out for more information soon!
