Implementing a new system is not as simple as sticking some speakers in a room and hoping for the best. In order to maximise the effectiveness of the system careful planning, modelling and measurements are required, especially in an acoustically challenging venue.
We can describe the effect of a room on a sound source as coupling – the room changes the way the sound system sounds, much like when you sing in the shower (c’mon, we all do it!) compared to singing in your bedroom.
Working on this project with St Lawrence College has been a complete pleasure – the chapel is a beautiful building and we’re pleased to have been able to offer it a new lease of life in providing a functional and highly flexible system, opening new possibilities and opportunities.
The link at the top shows some snippets of the process we go through when specifying a system for our clients. All this work means that both we and our clients can be confident in the results before any installation work has begun!
If you’re interested in updating your current system or have questions about getting the most from your current setup, please do get in touch – we’d love to discuss your needs and see how we can help you make the most of your system and venue!
